A Special Edition for a Special Year

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the API Platform framework. Since its creation in 2015, the project has grown and evolved significantly, becoming a go-to solution both in France and beyond. To celebrate this milestone edition, attendees will enjoy real-world experience reports, a retrospective of the framework by its earliest adopters, presentations of complex architectures built with API Platform, and, as every year, major announcements from across the ecosystem.

To mark this anniversary in a fitting way — and in response to the 160+ talk proposals we received, many of outstanding technical quality — we’ve decided to add an exclusive third track, scheduled for Thursday, September 18, offering attendees an even richer and more diverse program to ensure they leave the API Platform Conference truly inspired and motivated.

Stay tuned — the full agenda will be revealed in early June!

Meet our experts

You’ll have the opportunity to listen to:

  • Fabien Potencier, the creator of Symfony, will join us in Lille to celebrate the anniversary of API Platform. The topic of his keynote will be announced very soon.
  • Tobias Petry, an international speaker from Germany and a specialist in database technologies, will present reliable and structured methods for evolving your database.
  • We’re thrilled to welcome two members of the Laravel core team: Joe Dixon, creator of Laravel Reverb and currently a software engineer at Laravel Cloud, and Florian Beer, an infrastructure engineer on the same team. Both will be joining us in Lille and are eager to meet their French community.
  • Nils Adermann, co-creator of Composer, will share his top tips and techniques for mastering this essential dependency manager in the PHP ecosystem.
  • Alexandre Daubois, open source contributor, author, and Symfony core team, will introduce PIE, a revolutionary PHP extension management tool developed by the PHP Foundation.
  • Helvira Goma will use humor to demystify a topic as sensitive as it is universal: the anxiety developers may feel in the face of ever-evolving frameworks and technologies — and the underlying fear of being left behind.
  • PHP core developer Gina Peter Banyard will delve into PHP’s evolving type system, the role of the Liskov Substitution Principle in defining subtypes, and what the future might hold for type safety in the language.

The complete list of speakers is available on this page.

2025: A Festive Year for PHP

The year 2025 marks several anniversaries in the PHP ecosystem: 10 years of API Platform, 20 years of Symfony, 25 years of AFUP (the French non-profit that has been promoting the PHP language for decades), and 30 years of PHP itself.

As the organizers of the API Platform Conference and the company behind API Platform, we’re proud to join our friends at SensioLabs, AFUP, and the Symfony community in celebrating these symbolic milestones throughout the year — a testament to the longevity of this vibrant programming language and the exceptional tools it continues to inspire.

In addition to the celebrations we’re planning for September 18–19, don’t miss these other key events — all about retrospectives, reunions, and festive moments:

  • AFUP Day — happening this Friday, May 16 in Lille, Lyon, and Poitiers.
  • Forum PHP — October 9–10 at Disneyland Paris, at the New York – The Art of Marvel Hotel.
  • SymfonyCon — November 27–28 in Amsterdam.

Join us for an unforgettable year of celebrations!
