Mercure is a protocol whose reference implementation is written in Go, and which is conceived to simplify real-time communication between web browser and web server.
Based on a free protocol available on the IETF’s website and on HTTP/2’s Server-Sent Events functionality, Mercure is an alternative to aging websockets and is perfectly integrated with JavaScript’s native functionality EventSource.
A managed version of the protocol exists in addition to the open source version.
